MSA Scholarship Information

The Maryland Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation, Inc. was established to provide scholarships to students majoring in accounting.


  • Be a Maryland resident enrolled in an accredited Maryland University, College or Community College.
  • Have successfully completed Accounting Principles I and II, with a grade of "B" or better.
  • Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in both accounting and overall.
  • Be enrolled in a program with a major in accounting leading to a degree or certificate.



Each fall the Foundation awards annual scholarships in the amount of $2000 for full-time students, and $1,000 for part-time students (not to exceed $8,000 per recipient).  The scholarship is an annual award and must be applied for on a yearly basis meeting the above requirements.


  • The second installment of the scholarship is dependent on the recipient submitting a transcript for fall/winter grades by January 15th which shows they have maintained the required academic performance.  Additionally, students selected for a scholarship MUST attend an event to be recognized in order to receive the renewal installment.
